2011 Academy Awards Red Carpet Looks

February 28, 2011

Last nights 83rd Academy Awards celebrated last years greatest movies. Style hunters like myself are never disappointed on such occasions, this one being no exception. Below are the ladies who I think totally rocked the red carpet:

Jennifer Lawrence in Calvin Klein

Simple, chic, elegant, this lady exhausts adjectives. Her low key makeup, simple gold bangle and clutch immediately grabbed eyeballs. She looks elegant and glam without being too made up either.

Mila Kunis in Elie Saab

Mila Kunis totally rocked the lace trend. Her Elie Saab gown was very ooh-la-la and the *ahem* inappropriateness was downplayed by the funky lavender. All in all a very good ensemble.

Hailee Steinfeld in Marchesa

14 year old actress Hailee Steinfeld wore this neutral colored sparkly dress dress that was most certainly age appropriate. Word has it that this tea-length gown was partly designed by Hailee herself! Do we have an upcoming designer here?

Natalie Portman in Rodarte

Just like Jennifer Lawrence, Natalie Portman (the Black Swan winner) looked laid back, relaxed and effortlessly chic in her royal purple dress. The assymetrical hemline and train behind add subtle touches of Rodarte.

Hilary Swank in Gucci

This is definately a love it or hate it look. Some (like me) just loved the gown while others might think the sequins and feathers are a tad bit too much. What do you think? Loved it? Or hated it?

Halle Berry in Marchesa

Just like Hailee, Hale opted for a nude, sparkly gown. Definately different, though not bad. In fact it goes a long way in flattering her.

What do you think? Did you like any of these? Did you like any others not mentioned here? Let me know!

Gorgeous dress on Halle Berry there (in particular, they all look good). Love your blog. Now following. Hope you’ll follow me back.

Check out my blog if you’ve got time and feel like it. It would mean a lot.
